Statement on Better Regulation

Oct 18 2021

Today, EUMEPS, together with more than 20 trade associations, has co-signed a cross-industry joint statement on Better Regulation, aimed at providing recommendations to further improve the European policy-making process. Our sectors call upon the European Commission and the other European Institutions for:

EU Legislation to be developed and supported by evidence-based impact assessments;
Sufficient time and resources to be allocated at all phases of the decision-making process;
Consultations to be conducted via a thorough process involving experts’ and input from all relevant stakeholders;
Key regulatory provisions such as definitions and scope to be agreed upon and clearly defined at a primary legislative stage;
The impact on innovation to be considered in all legislative initiatives;
EU legislation to be implemented and enforced in a harmonised way safeguarding the EU Single Market.
